USA Celebrates Teachers During "Extra Yard for Teachers Week"

The 51福利's College of Education and Professional Studies, in partnership with South Alabama Athletics and the Sun Belt Conference, is honoring educators during Extra Yard for Teachers Week, from Sept. 15 to 20, 2025. The week-long celebration will include a Big Reveal Pep Rally on Tuesday, Sept. 16 and culminate on Saturday, Sept. 20, with activities, give-aways and recognition during the Jags vs. Coastal Carolina football game at Hancock Whitney Stadium.

Big Reveal Pep Rally on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
鈼� One deserving school will be surprised with a grand prize check and a special celebratory
pep rally featuring South Alabama football players, cheerleaders and SouthPaw. Additionally,
elementary school cheerleaders will have the opportunity to cheer alongside the South
Alabama cheerleaders.
Extra Yard for Teachers Game Day Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 20.
鈼� Game Day Honor: Local educators will be honored and highlighted for their vital role in the community during the Jags vs. Coastal Carolina Football game.
鈼� $15 Discounted Tickets 鈥� A special thank you to all educators.
鈼� Free Tailgate Party: The College of Education and Professional Studies, along with the Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) and the South Alabama Research and In-Service Center (SARIC) will host a free tailgate party on John Counts Drive, across from Gate 1. The tailgate begins two hours before kickoff.
鈼� Amazon Wish List Fulfillment Opportunities: South Alabama Athletics and The Sun Belt Conference are fulfilling teacher wish lists with more than $6,000 in classroom supplies. Two educators will be selected and announced during the game, each to receive a $500 fulfillment. An additional 25 educators each will be awarded a $200 fulfillment the following week. Teachers will have the opportunity to register at the College of Education and Professional Studies Game Day tailgate or the Extra Yard for Teachers booth inside Gates 2 and 3 while at the game.
The Extra Yard for Teachers initiative is a nationwide movement led by the College
Football Playoff Foundation, dedicated to elevating the teaching profession by inspiring
and empowering teachers.

our teachers," said Dr. Angela Barlow, dean of the College of Education and Professional
Studies. "Their dedication is the foundation of our community's success, and we're
excited to show our gratitude with a day of celebration dedicated to them."
